Perennia is pleased to introduce the Agri-Food Accelerator Program for agriculture producers and food and beverage food businesses in Nova Scotia.

The focus of this program is to:

  • support access to new markets through skills development and information, as well as food safety support, analytical testing and training to meet scientific, retailer and market expectations for safe food
  • support the successful commercialization of Nova Scotia agriculture-sourced products into recognized retail markets through skills development and information, as well as market research validation and prototype product development and scale up support with the intent to have the product successfully reach the intended market with sales longevity

Component # 2 Market Access Accelerator Programs

Opening New Markets Through Food Safety Education and Support

This is an exciting and comprehensive technical education and development program focused on:

  1. Increasing the knowledge, skills and understanding of small and medium-sized food producers and food and beverage processors on food safety principles and practices.
  2. Ensuring safe food products are in the marketplace by providing scientific and technical advice and analytical testing to small and medium-sized food companies with food products entering or already in the market to mitigate any food safety issues.
  3. Accelerating products to new markets by providing coaching and advisory services on specific obstacles encountered by food producers and processors ready, willing and able to grow into a larger retail environment or export market by overcoming a specific obstacle.

These programs consist of matching funding support, information and advice, and skills development.
