Perennia’s dairy specialist provides one-on-one custom support to dairy producers which includes bi-monthly visits, ration formulations and cow comfort and signal expertise as a certified Cow Signals practitioner to optimize milk production and reduce metabolic diseases.

Site Assessments

Perennia provides full and partial vineyard site assessments under the province’s Vineyard Development and Expansion Program. We also offer other site assessments so current and future producers have the basic soil and climate data to make the best possible decisions.

Fertility Plans

Perennia offers producers annual Farm Crop Fertility Plans in horticulture and field crops. The plans lay out manure, and granular fertility by field and crop for the whole farm for one cropping season based on a grower consultation and their most recent soil samples. This is a highly desirable third-party service offered independent of product representation.

Agricultural Product Efficacy Trials

Perennia conducts efficacy trials on various horticulture crops for companies seeking field data to assist with the registration of new products or for minor use registrations. Companies with new commercial fungicide, insecticide and herbicide products make better decisions with on-farm data. For this service, all trials are carried out on commercial farms; trials are carried out under sound scientific procedures; statistics are carried out when requested; and updates and final reports can be produced if required and on client’s timeline.

Applied Research

Our specialists undertaken a number of applied research projects each year in partnership with government, farmers and farming associations. Food Safety

Perennia is uniquely positioned to help producers with their On-Farm Food Safety Programs, practical animal husbandry, employee hygiene and post-harvest handling processes. Our production specialists and quality and food safety team work together to assist clients in ensuring they are meeting the standards of a national program or following industry standards for keeping food safe on-farm. If you are part of a national standards program, we can assist you by:

  • reviewing your manual with you
  • performing a gap analysis (on-site inspection) of the facilities/farm/packinghouse and providing feedback
  • developing packinghouse schematic drawings and process flow diagrams
  • consulting on record keeping requirements including customizing existing records to meet national standards for your program
  • ensuring the manual and recordkeeping are working after implementation
  • consulting on audit preparation including review of all customer audit requirements and development of an action plan
  • conducting your annual hygiene training
