Pilot Plant Operator and Building Service Coordinator

Craig has a wide range of technical and laboratory skills gained from his experience working in the brewing and edible oil business.

As pilot plant operator and building coordinator, Craig maintains the Perennia Innovation Centre Pilot Plant equipment and space to ensure adherence to food industry standards, and works with tenants and clients to ensure proper plant timelines are maintained. He is also responsible for co-ordinating with the appropriate service providers so that all building-related mechanical, electrical and maintenance issues are resolved promptly. In addition, he works closely with clients, tenants and other staff to ensure all projects follow industry-set sanitation standards.

Craig has a strong technical background. He worked in a CFIA-approved pilot plant with Ocean Nutrition Canada, working closely with research and development and technical services to develop new products or streamline existing processes, and assisted in refining plant technology and processes as well as sourcing new novel technologies to increase yields and throughput. He has also spent time working for an expanding micro-brewery, assisting and leading daily activities in packaging and operations.

He has a BSc. in Chemistry from Dalhousie University and is a strong supporter of new and ecologically-friendly business opportunities that will help shape and grow Nova Scotia’s economy.
