Elaine works with clients on food safety and quality plan development, implementation and overall process and production efficiencies.
She has assisted many primary producers and processers in successfully obtaining and maintaining Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification (i.e. SQF, Canada GAP) as well as assisting others in achieving 3rd party certifications (i.e. Food Safety and Quality Systems (FSQS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Costco requirements). As a result she has worked with a variety of industries such as maple, eggs, dairy (fluid milk and cheese), bakery, fresh fruit and vegetables, nut butters, food ingredient production, tea, packaging and distribution.
With over 15 years of manufacturing experience, (Hershey Canada, Moirs; Scotsburn Dairy) Elaine has extensive knowledge and skills in all aspects of the production process. Elaine can assist clients in building quality systems, documenting standard operating procedures, analysing consumer complaints, pest control and quality data, implementing quality assurance programs, allergen control programs, earning Kosher certification, problem solving and employee training.
Elaine is an ASQ Certified HACCP Auditor and is trained in HACCP I, II, III, BRC (with merit), SQF, Canada GAP, FSSC 22000 and Internal Auditing, IMSI International Maple Grading, Milk Processing and Dairy Technology, Ice Cream Technology, Train the Trainer, as well as various leadership and communication courses. She has completed a Dalhousie University Executive level course on Adult Education.
