Perennia Staff Trained as Gluten Free Consultants

In June, five Perennia specialists received training to be Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) consultants. With the continued increasing demand for gluten free products, the following team members are now more equipped to assist clients: our four food safety specialists – Marcela Jijena, Elaine Grant, Wendy Harvie and Pam Laffin – and Margot White, our Product and Process Development Co-ordinator at the Innovation Centre. The training was based on GFCP, which is owned by Allergen  Control Group, and is the only program endorsed by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) and the Canadian Celiac Association (CCA). The training now allows these Perennia team members to provide coaching and implementation support services for those companies wishing to become certified in the GFCP.
