This event is being held as part of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) program. The goals of the program are to encourage on-farm sequestration of carbon and reduction in greenhouse gases through the implementation of improved nitrogen management, enhanced cover crop adoption, and the normalization of rotational grazing. Session Description

Come out for an insider look into local farm operations and community pastures throughout the province. Beef, sheep, poultry, hog producers and agronomists are encouraged to join! Are you interested in learning more about rotational grazing and improving pasture quality for your grazing livestock? The pasture walk extension topics will include soil health, rotational grazing, early season management, water management, multispecies grazing and more.

Topics Covered: Land Swap in action, land swap concepts, planning, setting up pasture/grazing plan and fencing supplies. In part with the Living Laboratories, Websters farm and local ranchers.

Guest Speaker: Greg Judy
Greg and his wife, Jan, raise cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, and mushrooms on 1620 acres of owned and leased land in Rucker, Missouri. They aim to grow healthy soil and animals while mimicking nature. Gregs ethos is more than just moving livestock, it’s about mental health techniques, mentorship, and embracing dreams. Greg is the author of three books, and travels throughout North America to help other farmers and ranchers achieve their own success through workshops, speaker sessions, and literature.
