A six session hands-on training beginning Oct. 16 and finishing on Nov. 30.

Who Would Benefit
This program is designed for producers and processors already in production and on the shelf. There will be category exclusivity in these sessions to ensure that participants are not in competition with each other during their learning.  Each business will receive specific training for their product with less than 10 participants.

By the end of the training, participants will have:

  • an enticing Unique Selling Proposition for the product
  • defined the target market consumers and customers for each product
  • defined the value and benefits of each product
  • created a realistic 12 month sales and promotion plan
  • improved knowledge of the grocery store, the product category, what their customer is trying to accomplish and where they can play a role in making the customer more successful
  • created mutually beneficial relationships with category managers
  • thorough understanding of how to develop a strong long-term 
relationship with their retail customers
  • the right pricing strategy for your products and how to get a price increase
  • a new confidence that will be evident when meeting with category managers
  • separated your business from your competitors and the rest of the category

* full days are 9 AM to 4 PM and will be held in Bedford Superstore Community Room, 1650 Bedford Hwy, Bedford, NS to facilitate in-store learning sessions

** webinar requirements are a computer with internet access, and a webcam/microphone

This training series is being supported by Federal and Provincial funds.

Price:  $949 + HST per participant for all six modules (regular price $3000)

Trainers: Peter Chapman and Gary Morton from SKU Food

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Basic Microsoft Excel/Word/Power Point skills
  • Nova Scotia-based agricultural producers and food and beverage processors
  • There must be some Nova Scotia agricultural product in your product
