ANNIE BENNETT, M.Sc.
Apiculturist – ATTTA
Annie is an Apiculturist for the Atlantic Tech Transfer Team for Apiculture.
Annie earned her B.Sc. with honours in Environmental Science from Wheaton College in Massachusetts. She later went on to complete a M.Sc. from the University of Freiburg in Germany studying agroforestry and focusing her research on the potential for agroforestry systems in Newfoundland.
Always a lover of plants, Annie first started working with wild pollinators as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg. She then went on to work with honey bees used for wild blueberry pollination as a beekeeper at a major commercial beekeeping operation here in Nova Scotia. Annie wants to connect industry with science and is keen to engage with all beekeepers in Atlantic Canada to provide extension services and develop research for the pollination industry. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and taking care of her own beehives.
