Climate Change Intern
Scott’s primary role is to assist in the implementation of the Nova Scotia Environment’s Climate Adaptation Leadership Program (CALP) both within the Department of Agriculture and the province’s agricultural industry. Working under the guidance of the Climate Adaptation Coordinator for Agriculture at Nova Scotia Environment, Scott conducts research, collects data, and prepares reports and communication materials. His work supports the NSDA and industry group’s ability to increase their capacity to adapt to climate-related risks and opportunities.
Scott has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Saint Mary’s University. During his time at Saint Mary’s, his academic work centered on environmental policy, sustainable development, natural resource management and protection, and environment and climate sciences. Before joining the Perennia team, he worked as a volunteer with organizations such as the Clean Foundation, assisting with coastal restoration site assessments, and the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), surveying vulnerable tree species in Nova Scotia.
