Varvara Satanina’s role at Perennia is as Manager of the Food and Beverage Innovation Centre in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. As Manager, Varvara coordinates activities at the Centre and provides leadership to the Product Development, Analytical, Mobile Services and Food Safety teams.
Along with leadership, Varvara brings over ten years of experience and an extensive background in food product development from concept design to commercialization to the team. She also has experience in industrial research and development, process optimization, laboratory management and operation, experimental methodology design and validation, and development and implementation of food safety systems.
Varvara’s previous roles include Manager of Scientific Research Projects for Cavendish Farms Corp. and Quality Assurance Manager for PEI Blueberries Ltd. Varvara holds a PhD degree in Food Science and Technology obtained from St. Petersburg University of Refrigeration and Food Engineering, Russia. She also has an MSc degree in Agriculture obtained from Dalhousie University.
