MARGOT WHITE, MSc.
Team Lead Perennia Innovation Centre/Product and Process Development Co-ordinator
Margot oversees a series of industrial, research and development projects underway at Perennia and brings to the team a wide range of experience in laboratory management, industrial R&D activities and product and process development. Margot holds a M.Sc. (high honors) and B.Sc. (honors) in Agricultural Sciences obtained from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College.
Margot currently coordinates the National Research Council-Industry Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) Contribution to Organization Funding for Perennia Food and Agriculture and works closely with small to medium size enterprises to encourage economic growth and development and solve technical issues.
Margot supervises most of the staff working at the Innovation Centre located in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia.
Margot worked in NL, her home province, from 2005-2009 where she established a quality control laboratory for nutritional and microbial analysis, in conjunction with a centralized feed kitchen for fur animals and acted as a quality control consultant. Margot also developed curriculum for on-farm training for the College of the North Atlantic before returning to NS. Prior to that, Margot was a Research Associate and the main technical support for the applied fur-animal nutrition research program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in terms of funding applications, conducting experiments, submission of reports and supervision of fourth year, and graduate students and teaching assistant responsibilities.
