Processing and Production Specialist

Richard Dittman is Perennia’s Food & Beverage Processing and Production Specialist. Richard’s main role includes running the mobile bottling and filtration services. He is also responsible for managing Perennia’s Innovation Centre pilot plant, ensuring its ability to provide quality food production for our clients. 

Richard has a BSc in Marine Biology and an MSc in Biophysics from the University of Guelph. For the past 25 years, he worked as a private consultant for both military and commercial, industrial standards groups. His primary role was developing several internationally recognized quality test methods and instruments for the food, ship-hull maintenance, fire-fighting and aviation industries.

Over the course of his career, he worked to establish five shared Canadian and US patents in optical instrumentation for military and industrial test methods. He also has obtained two American Society for Testing Materials standards for the validation of aqueous film-forming fire, fighting foam concentrations and water concentration in jet fuel.

Richard is a software and hardware design specialist in programmable logic controls and electronics for the automation of food production. He is also specialized in the use of Programmable logic controllers for remote monitoring of environmental parameters for pollution control and localized climate monitoring.
