NRC-IRAP Contribution Agreement

Perennia has a partnership with the National Research Council (NRC) under its Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) Contribution to Organization program. The program provides funding to successful applicants to have Perennia’s team answer a business or technical question. The ultimate goal is enabling clients to present market-ready products that are revenue generators for the consumer market. In doing so, the Perennia team helps identify and mitigate technical risk factors related to product and process development that can impact the overall product quality and safety, and addresses product reformulations and process issues such as establishing process controls, adapting new process technologies and developing new processes.

Food and Beverage Business Accelerator Program

The Food and Beverage Business Accelerator Program will support Nova Scotia producers and food and beverage processors in increasing revenues and profits by assisting them to get more products successfully to market; and opening new markets for current and new products.

Perennia and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture (NSDA) are working closely together on the delivery of this program to help clients achieve their food business goals for value-added products produced in Nova Scotia by the processing of raw Nova Scotia agriculture products. The program is funded under the federal-provincial Canadian Agricultural Partnership agreement and has three main parts:

  • Cost shared components: The NSDA will provide funding (as a percentage reimbursement) for eligible applicants when they work with Perennia on certain specialized services
  • Assistance for producers of high-risk Nova Scotia processed products:  The program provides for specific services to be carried out for companies producing high-risk processed products
  • Training and Resources: Resources will be developed and made available that will be of interest to food and beverage processors
