Lisa Fitzgerald

Lisa has been a liaison between the fishing industry and government for over 25 years.  As the executive director of the NS Fisheries Sector Council she has worked on a number of training development initiatives related to quality handling, human resources and safety; manages a number of working groups focused on attraction and retention of labour in the industry; instrumental in the formation of a safety association in Nova Scotia, and co-led Fishing Safety Now. One of her recent projects is the establishment and implementation of a Registration, Certification and Training program for fish harvesters in Nova Scotia – Fish Harvesters Registration and Certification Board of Nova Scotia.
