FAQ
This event is designed for agronomists, professional agrologists, extension specialists, technical advisors and students interested in advancing agriculture and producer adoption of BMPs.
The conference focuses on the “how” of extension, providing practical, applied approaches to communicating, teaching and encouraging adoption of climate-smart BMPs supported through OFCAF.
Key BMPs under the On-Farm Climate Action Fund will be featured, including nitrogen management, cover cropping and rotational grazing, with real-world examples and demonstrations.
Sessions will explore both the technical and human sides of supporting BMP adoption. Topics include adult learning principles, communication strategies, behavioural change, decision-support tools and applied extension methods.
In addition, sessions will examine the role of technology, data and AI in extension, and how these tools can support more effective, targeted outreach. Participants will also gain insight into measuring impact. Overall, the conference is designed to integrate technical knowledge with extension practice, equipping participants with the skills to both understand and effectively communicate BMPs with producers.
