Timothy J. Kennedy, President & CEO, Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance
Timothy Kennedy began his work leading the national association for Canada's seafood farming sector in April 2017 as President & CEO of the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance (CAIA). He's passionate about the future and potential of sustainable seafood farming for Canada and the world.

Tim has worked for over 20 years in Ottawa with experiences as a political and policy advisor, a senior government relations consultant working with leading clients in the natural resources and sustainability sectors, and as a Vice President for a major North American energy company.

Robert Pascal, Senior Director, Blue Economy Strategy Secretariat, Department of Fisheries and Oceans 

Canada's Blue Economy Strategy – What we Heard and the Seafood Sector's Future 

Robert has worked in Strategic Policy at Fisheries and Oceans Canada since 2010 and is overseeing the development of Canada's Blue Economy Strategy. Robert holds a masters in business administration from McMaster University and a honours bachelor of science in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Toronto. 


Paul Lansbergen, President, Fisheries Council of Canada

Paul joined the Fisheries Council of Canada in November 2017.  He is recognized for his strategic and innovative insight, as a consensus builder, and as a progressive leader.  He has received a number of awards, including being named as a Top 100 Food and Beverage Leader by the 2021 Global Summit on All-Things Food.  In 2019, he was appointed to the Canadian Environment Domestic Advisory Group under the C/EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and elected as a Co-Chair.  Paul has over 25 years' experience in public policy, advocacy and association leadership, previously working for the forest and fertilizer industries and as a political advisor on Parliament Hill.  Paul is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and has two degrees in Economics.  He lives in the small community of Boileau, Quebec and was elected as a Municipal Councilor in November 2021.


Kendra MacDonald, Chief Executive Officer, Canada's Ocean Supercluster  

Kendra MacDonald is the CEO of Canada's Ocean Supercluster, responsible for the accelerated development and commercialization of innovation that will solve some of the world's biggest challenges in ocean.  Kendra is leading the change in the culture of doing business in ocean from coast-to-coast-to-coast, increasing collaboration across ocean sectors and growing Canada's ocean economy in a digital, sustainable, and inclusive way. In recognition of her leadership in building the Ocean Supercluster from the ground up, Kendra was recently named one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine and one of Canada's Top Sustainability Leaders by Clean50.  

 Kendra was previously a Partner in Deloitte's Risk Advisory practice and the Chief Audit Executive of Deloitte Global.

 Kendra speaks regularly on the topics of innovation, future of work, and disruptive technologies, and also serves on the Board of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and is the Past-Chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology Industries. 

Over the course of her career, Kendra has both lived and worked in Ottawa, Montreal, Australia and Hong Kong before moving to St. John's in 2010 where she now resides with her husband and two children. 


Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, Norway's Ambassador to Canada

Before becoming Norway's ambassador to Canada, Jon Elvedal Fredriksen was a diplomatic advisor to the Prime Minister of Norway. He has previously been Norway's Ambassador to Ukraine and Consul General of Norway in Murmansk, Russia, and has extensive experience with Arctic affairs and security policy. Mr. Fredriksen is a graduate of the University of Tromsø, Norway in Russian studies, world literature and structural linguistics.

   


Kristianne Paasche, Special Advisor, Innovation Norway 

Kristianne Paasche has been responsible for the Norwegian cluster programme and a strong voice in the development of national cluster policies. She has a master in economics and business administration and broad business experience.
