In this session of “Getting into the Weeds,” join Dr. Mason MacDonlad (DAL-AC) in discussing how plants respond to field changes with excessive water and extra nitrogen fertilizer input.

Dr. Mason MacDonald, Assistant Professor, DAL-AC, mason.macdonald@dal.ca 

Dr. Mason MacDonald is an Assistant Professor in Plant Ecophysiology at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture. He has a B.Sc. (Nova Scotia Agricultural College) and M.Sc. (Dalhousie) in Agriculture and a Ph.D. (Laval) in Plant Biology. He teaches Plant Ecophysiology and Environmental Sampling courses and is an accredited Agrologist and environmental professional. Dr. MacDonald’s work focuses on ecological stress physiology, stress mitigation and multiomics, with over 40 publications related to research on balsam fir, maple, brassicas, carrots and species used for microgreens. Dr. MacDonald enjoys talking and collaborating with industry to learn about their challenges and help develop solutions.
