Session Description

For fresh fruit and vegetable growers, packers, suppliers, and wholesalers. An in-depth review, suitable for all levels of experience and understanding of the CanadaGAP program requirements, how to become certified and a review of common non-conformances will be discussed.

CanadaGAP is a GFSI-recognized food safety program developed to promote Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for Fresh Fruit and Vegetable suppliers who produce, pack and store and Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP programs for repackers and wholesalers. Perennia is partnering with Kim Best from Prospect Agri-Services to offer virtual CanadaGAP training workshops outlining the version 11.0 requirements.

The CanadaGAP Full Sessions are a more in-depth review, suitable for all levels of experience and understanding of the CanadaGAP program requirements, how to become certified and a review of common non-conformances will be discussed.

Kim Best is an Auditor and Trainer on the CanadaGAP food safety program and has been involved with the program since its inception in 2006. Kim has extensive agronomic experience from over 30 years of horticultural crop research and conducts many annual audits in horticulture as well being a validator for livestock commodities.

Offers coaching for clients that need assistance with CanadaGAP implementation, pre-assessments and getting audit ready. Elaine and the Quality & Food Safety Team have experience coaching clients, across various commodities, to assist them in meeting regulations and 3rd party standards. We assist clients in developing and implementing customized food safety and quality programs, as well as identifying overall process and production efficiencies. With the goal of creating a plan that is practical, approachable, easily maintained and managed throughout the growth of the operation. We also offer customized in-house training, public training, virtual instructor led and eLearning options.
